Yoga- Post 1

Time to give back.

Having drawn inspiration from countless bloggers documenting their every move on topics from yoga to music to cooking- here is my drop in the ocean of information that is the 'net.

I've been practicing yoga in some form or another since around 2000.  Ardently, with great devotion at times,  reluctantly with great aversion at others.  Hours and hours spent in various yoga practices funnel a robust conation towards happiness.

Basically, I'm a mess and cling to yoga as a life raft.   After all, it was through yoga that my heart teachers appeared- in a tradition completely foreign to me; Tibetan Buddhism.

During one early meeting with Lama, I began lamenting some issue about money and work, to which she cooed "oooh, I wish we could do some asana".

Wait a minute...what?

At that time, I was so shocked by that connection between eliminating mental affliction and yoga asana that my mind was temporarily relieved of it's affliction.

She (and her students) went on to teach me how to give yoga the power to eliminate mental affliction; a process that revolves around understanding karma and emptiness.

I wish you ever fortitude through times of hardship on the path of yoga.
